You say your world has gone to pieces -- Things just fell apart
You want to put things back together -- But you don't know where to start
Well I got your solution -- The stuff you need to use
It's a thing called Duct Tape -- There ain't nothing it can't do
The world has gone to pieces - What's a poor boy 'sposed to do
I'm just holding things together - singing the DUCT TAPE BLUES
I tell you duct tape is the answer - in a little silver roll
It can mend the widest crack - patch the deepest hole
I put duct tape on my sneakers when they start to fall apart
Since my baby left me - I'm wearing duct tape on my heart
The world has gone to pieces - What's a poor boy 'sposed to do
I'm just holding things together - singing the DUCT TAPE BLUES
Now the Supreme Court got together and ate democracy for dinner
They took the guy that came in second and made HIM the winner
The system is broken - I can tell you how to fix it
Send some duct tape down to Washington and show 'em where to stick it
The world has gone to pieces - What's a poor boy 'sposed to do
I'm just holding things together - singing the DUCT TAPE BLUES
I'm going down to the Pentagon, gonna help my country out
Tell them five star generals just what it's all about
Show 'em my roll of Duct Tape, explain what it can do
Tell 'em "It's only 99 thousand dollars, this week special -- just for you"
The world has gone to pieces - What's a poor boy 'sposed to do
I'm just holding things together - singing the DUCT TAPE BLUES
(I think we need a new verse...You can go
here for an MP3 of the above...)
I wonder, is this the 'Blues," are just someone whining on an untuned guitar?
"if the women don't find you handsome
they should at least find you handy,
always carry duct tape."
I just wandered on to this thread. Funny, my band is doing a reunion concert this summer and we have dubbed it the Duct Tape Planet tour. I am writing a song called duct tape planet just for it.
I've been told if you wanna sing the blues, you gotta pay the dues.
How much, and where do I send the check?
hey BPB - where's the tour schedule?
One big show in Raleigh only July 19th. We live in the four corners of the country now. We're going to rehearse for a week, and then play and go home. If it does well we may do something bigger later.
We'll be doing a cd and dvd of it, and it will be a great show. About two hours with a mix of our old material, a couple of new things I'm working on right now, and some cover material of our favorite stuff.
Think of Cirkus as a cross between AC/DC and Van Halen, except that David Lee Roth is a more laid back and cultured front man than I am.
Anyone interested in coming down and re honing your stage diving skills is welcome.
hmmmm... Raleigh, you say....? I wish I could make it, but I'll be just back from the NW then.
Hey BPB, do you have a recollection of a band called Rail from the mid-90s? They were from somewhere on the mid-atlantic seaboard. A spoof country band..... love those guys and they dropped off the face of the earth.
Not familiar with them I'm afraid. The spoof band I love is Hayseed Dixie, the bluegrass AC/DC cover band. Have you heard them? If not go to their site and listen to some of the downloads, but have toilet paper handy. You'll laugh that hard. They're great.
I have heard of them, but not been to heir website.... I'll have to check it out!
No fireworks inside, okay?
