Down in the poolroom some of the gang were telling of girls they knew
Women are all the same said Joe
Then one dizzy bird said pal ain't you heard the story of true blue Lou
Listen and get an earful Joe
While I remind you
She was a dame in love with a guy
She stuck to him but didn't know why
Everyone blamed her
Still they all named her
True blue Lou
He gave her nothing She gave her all
And when he had his back to the wall
Who fought to save him
Smiled and forgave him
True blue Lou
He got a break and went away to get a new start
But poor kid the only break she got was the one way down in her heart
Maybe somewhere in heaven up above
There's a reward for her kind of love
Angels won't blame her
They too will name her
True blue Lou

Drinking beer in a cabaret and was I having fun
Until one night she caught me right
And now I'm on the run.

Lay that pistol down, babe,
Lay that pistol down.
Pistol packin' mama,
Lay that pistol down.

She kicked out my windshield;
She hit me over the head.
She cussed and cried and said I lied
And wished that I was dead.

Lay that pistol down, babe,
Lay that pistol down.
Pistol packin' mama,
Lay that pistol down.

Drinking beer in a cabaret and dancing with a blonde.
Until one night she shot out the light -
BANG! That blonde was gone.

Lay that pistol down, babe,
Lay that pistol down.
Pistol packin' mama,
Lay that pistol down.

I'll see you every night, babe,
I'll woo you every day.
I'll be your reg'lar daddy
If you put that gun away.

Lay that pistol down, babe,
Lay that pistol down.
Pistol packin' mama,
Lay that pistol down.

Drinking beer in a cabaret and was I having fun
Until one night she caught me right
And now I'm on the run.

Lay that pistol down, babe,
Lay that pistol down.
Pistol packin' mama,
Lay that pistol down.

Now there was old Al Dexter
He always had his fun
But with some lead she shot him dead
His honkin' days are done.

Lay that pistol down, babe,
Lay that pistol down.
Pistol packin' mama,
Lay that pistol down.

All around the world
Rock n roll is on its way
You can hear those juke boxes jumping
All night long into the day
All those flat top cats with their teenage queens
Rockin and rollin in their red and blue jeans

I got lumps in my throat when I saw her coming down the aisle
I got the wiggles in my knees when she looked at me and sweetly smiled
There she is again standing over by the record machine
Looking like the model on the cover of a magazine
She's too cute to be a minute over seventeen
Meanwhile I was thinking
She's in the mood no need to break it
I got achance I out to take it
Now if she'll dance we'll make it
Come here queenie let's shake it
Go go go little queenie

Mexicali Rose, stop crying;
I'll come back to you some sunny day.
Ev'ry night you know that I'll be pining,
Ev'ry hour or year while I'm away.

Dry those big brown eyes and smile dear,
Banish all those tears and please don't cry.
Kiss me once again and hold me;
Mexicali Rose goodbye.

Well I took my baby to the carnival
And I heard that barker yell
Come on and win yourself a pretty kewpie doll
All you gotta do is ring the bell

Well I swung the hammer just as hard as I could
And you should've heard the wild applause
When bong went the bell and the man said well
I guess the kewpie doll is yours

I said, give me a doggie or a teddy bear
Or a high school banner for my wall
Cause I got me a real live kewpie doll
And she's the cutest one of them all

Then we walked down the midway till we saw a crowd
And the man said try your skill
Five shots for a quarter, make a duck hit the water
And give your little baby a thrill

Well my baby smiled and she kissed me once
And I felt I was nine feet tall
Oh, five shots crashed and five ducks splashed
And the man gave me a kewpie doll

Then my baby said, honey let me try my luck
And knock the milk bottles off the shelf
You should've seen this chick, she was a dead eye dick
Hey I couldn't do better myself

And then my face got red and my chest swelled up
And my eyes bugged outta my head
Cause when the prize turned out to be a kewpie doll
This is what my baby said

She said, give me a doggie or a teddy bear
Or a high school banner for my wall
Cause I got me a real live kewpie doll
And he's the cutest one of them all

There's many a guy who'll sing you these blues
His dream was a lie, his heart's in his shoes
He wasn't so green, in ways he was smart
Till she hit the scene and she took him apart
He'll tell you as plain as day
"Keep away from ba-a-a-a-a-a-aby doll"

(That baby doll)
(Look out for her)

You'll see in her eyes the warning you should
You oughta be ooh-eyed, she'll lose you but good
As long as she's warm, the livin' is sweet
Then she'll raise a storm, you're back on the street
You might as well know, my friend, that's the end
You're cooked, you're through
(My friend, you're through)
(You're cooked, you're through)

She was my baby doll and she'll do the same to you

(That baby doll)
(Look out for her)

Crazy mama, where you been so long?
Crazy mama, where you been so long?
You've been hiding out, I know that's true
Crazy mama, I sure need you
Crazy mama, where you been so long?

Standing on the corner, looking for you, babe
Standing on the corner, looking for you, babe
Lord have mercy, can I see,
that crazy mama coming back to me?
Crazy mama, where you been so long?

She kinda breezed into town from New Orleans,
And said, "Boys, I'm Big John's Cajun Queen,
Now I didn't come here to argue or waste anbody's time,
I just came to get my man from your dirty old mine,
'Cause he moves me!
Now where you give up's where old Queenie's gonna start,
'Cause I got a powerful love in my heart,
So just show me the hole way down in the ground,
And tell the whole wide world Big John's been found,
And he's livin'!"

So down in the mine without a sign of a light,
Old Queenie went a-lookin' for John that night,
She found him there at the bottom of the pit,
And placed a red hot kiss on those cold blue lips!
He started breathin'!
She waited a minute and then she kissed him again,
And old John got the power of a hundred men,
Up he come a-clawin' and a-diggin' like a mole,
And said, "Come on Queenie, we're gonna leave this hole!"
They started walkin'!

Now a roar from the crowd greeted this fine pair,
As they both walked out in that cool night air,
And up for silence went Big John's hand,
And the Queen said, "I told you I'd get my man,
'Cause he moves me!"
You can find them today, they're down in New Orleans,
Big Bad John and his Cajun Queen,
They're a little bit wrinkled from the strain of time,
But their love's just as strong as that night in the mine,
A hundred and ten grandchildren!

Now the moral of this story has a real clear omen,
Don't you ever underestimate the power of a woman!

Dedicated To The One I Love
by* Shirelles

While I'm far away from you my baby
I know it's hard for you my baby
Because it's hard for me my baby
And the darkest hour is just before dawn
Each night before you go to bed my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me my baby
And tell all the stars above
This is dedicated to the one I love
Life can never be exactly like we want it to be
I can be satisfied just knowing that you love me
There's one thing I want you to do especially for me
And it's something that everybody needs
Each night before you go to bed my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me my baby
And tell all the stars above
This is dedicated to the one I love
This is dedicated to the one I love

There's a yellow rose in Texas
That I am going to see
No other darky knows her
No one only me
She cried so when I left her
It like to broke my heart
And if I ever more find her
We nevermore will part.

Chorus:
She's the sweetest rose of color
This darky ever knew
Her eyes are bright as diamonds
They sparkle like the dew
You may talk about dearest May
And sing of Rosa Lee
But the yellow rose of Texas
Beats the belles of Tennessee.

Where the Rio Grande is flowing
And the starry skies are bright
She walks along the river
In the quiet summer night

She thinks if I remember
When we parted long ago
I promised to come back again
And not to leave her so.
Oh now I am agoing to find her
For my heart is full of woe
And we will sing the song together
We sung so long ago
We will play the banjo gaily
And will sing the song of yore
And the yellow rose of Texas
Shall be mine forevermore.

The Ketchup Song
Stompin' Tom Connors

There was a guy from PEI they used to call potato
He met this young Leamington Ontario tomato
But he had eyes for other girls and she was a little mushy
So they said well let's get wed there's no sense bein fussy
Chorus:
Big sized french fries-how they love tomatoes
So dress em up with Heinz ketchup-(ketchup luvs Potatoes)x2
Well he went down to Windsor town to buy a ring on Monday
Saturday they said OK we'll cut the cake on Sunday
But Sunday came and what a shame-They had no one to fetch it
Without a cake they just sat and ate-potato chips and ketchup
Big sized french fries how they love tomatoes
So dress em up with Heinz Ketchup- (Ketchup luvs Potatoes)X2
And so this guy from Pei they used to call potato
Got two boys and a little girl, two spuds & one tomato
They romp and run around Leamington and boy when they get hungry
The bottle drips all over the chips way down in the ketchup country.
Chorus:
