Pacifica will have a one-day special national broadcast on Tuesday, June 27 - a dramatic reading of George Orwell's dystopian novel "1984". You'll be able to hear it on kpft.org or simulcast on any of the other four Pacifica stations, their web streams, or on our national website at pacifica.org.
What you'll hear Tuesday from 8am - 11 pm Central Time is the dramatic reading of the entire novel, recorded at KPFK in 1975, as read by longtime KPFK morning host and blacklisted writer Charles Morgan, and legendary voiceover artist June Foray. It's from the Pacifica Radio Archives, and is one small part of what's in the giant 64GB "Voices that Change the World" USB collection. You can get the "Voices" jump drive and support KPFT by donating at pledge.kpft.org
Regular Tuesday programming will resume the following week. That's Tuesday, June 27, from 8am to 11pm on 90.1 FM, KPFT Houston and kpft.org.
