Can you have an intestinal motility disorder without suffering from diarrhea or constipation?

The reason I ask is because, for the last dozen or so years, I have continuously dealt with bloating and early satiety.

To my recollection, this condition came on literally overnight. I cannot figure out the root cause. If it were a sign of some more serious physical issue (like cancer), it probably would’ve taken place by now.

I read something about psychological stress and intestinal dysmotility. As someone whose life has been largely compromised by a chronic anxiety disorder, I do somewhat suspect stress-related dysmotility.

What do people make of this?

Also, is there any sort of medication that can alleviate this issue? Do such meds often bring side effects that are worse than the actual condition they aim to treat?

@Ray C,

what did your doctor tell you when you asked them these questions?

@Ray C,
Anxiety can definitely throw off your guts (happens to me). Your entire digestive tract is a complicated piece of machinery and is easily disrupted. When my guts go off I usually eat light for a day or two, stay away from fat and sugar, and take a few extra probiotics.
