Advice on fidelity early on in a relationship

Hello,
I just started a gay relationship 5 weeks ago.
He asked me if I was dating anyone else 3 weeks ago and I said no but I am not sure if we were in a committed relationship. Last weekend a gay friend of mine gave me a hug in my apartment and we ended up having sex- it was selfish lust. I have now had the commitment talk with the guy I was dating and I would like to commit to him and only him. I am in a moral bind, as if it was me, I would want to know if the guy I was dating did something like this. I am also stuck in the selfish thought that if I admit to this then he will leave me. Any advice?

@Shamz,
Have the fidelity talk but don't mention this most recent encounter. It happened before any commitment, so it's water under the bridge. If you need to bring it up in the context of health, then do so. But again, it's before the commitment. You're fine.

@Shamz,
If a hug lead to sex, maybe you aren't quite ready to settle in with one person. Just another perspective.

I do agree though, assuming there was no established "monogamy", I'd leave it alone.

Moving forward...no more hugs 😃
