hp.naupoint.com Browser Hijack
The culprit appears to be a small file called HPCHuninstaller.exe. It doesn't seem to be listed yet in any of the adware programs that I used to try to stop the hijack of my browser. I tried everything that was freeware, shareware, or trialware to try to stop the hijack, but no luck. Finally, I resorted to searching for .exe files modified at about the time the problem started. This little file looked like the culprit, and when I removed it from the C/Windows/System 32 folder, and edited my registry in safe mode to change all naupoint references back to my original start and search pages, that seemed to do it. You can do the registry edit easily with Hijack This.exe, or simply search for "naupoint" after running "regedit" from the "run" command.
Good luck,
TEL
