What is it called when someones occupation is basically writing contracts and such?
So the same lawyer who defends people in court writes contracts and stuff too? I can't believe I didn't know that.
We take lots of different classes. Here in the US, the following are required for every single law student (names of the classes may vary):
Contracts
Property
Torts
Criminal Law & Procedure
Civil Procedure
Constitutional Law
Legal Methods/Legal Writing
Conflicts of Law
Professional Responsibility
This is so that we can sit for the bar. Not everyone is a specialist in everything, but every US lawyer has to have taken and passed all of these courses.
No wonder lawyers need to have so many years of college.
