Teaching 8th ELA or history?

I'm in a strange situation. This was my first year of teaching and I taught 8th ELA AND 8th History. Now as the year closes admin is trying to figure out where to place people next year, today the dept head of history came and said he really wants me on his team. What should I do? Which is better or more fun to teach? I LOVE Ela and the closeness I feel with students. I love history and the connections we can make to our life today. I just don't know..I have more experience with ela and I'm more comfortable. However the history head would be a great mentor...hmmm any thoughts?
