Yiddish expression

My parents and grandparents often used an expression that sounded like "fommer agon," in a phrase such as "he's got me driving all over fommer agon," or "I'm not driving all over fommer agon." The meaning was something like "aimlessly back and forth, in a circle, to and fro," but I can't find this in any Yiddish dictionary. Is anyone familiar with this expression and its "correct" English spelling? Thank you!
