Try impregnating the bandages with quinine or wormwood extract: these substances are very bitter to be chewed.
If this does not help, try potassium cyanide - after having chewed such a substance no one ever chews anything, even food stuffs
I have a Rhodisian Ridgeback, toe surgery, we are sleepless after 4 days, big collar in place, bandages, etc, he is a chewing maniac. We can't leave him for five minutes, this is really bad, using lick guard, bandage, gauze, he licks all nite to remove, we are sleepless, cranky and so is he!
