A Target representative on Wednesday apologized to residents on behalf of the company and said the chain would pull from its website and store shelves several shirts that had obvious errors printed on them, like “Mission Hills” and “West Roxberry.”
A shopper pointed out on Twitter that a T-shirt at the location showed a map of the Boston area. Pictured on the clothing, however, was a neighborhood that doesn’t exist. Others, like Chinatown, Allston, Bay Village, and the North End, were missing altogether.
The unusual neighborhood was called “Central,” which on the blue map on the white T-shirt was tucked beneath — but also connected to — Charlestown. South Boston, known locally as “Southie,” was misspelled “Southy.” And the neighborhood of Jamaica Plain was missing a critical letter and read “Jamaca Plain.”
