Can an advocate hire another advocate for a case?

Hi distinguished members of legal Fraternity,I have a query can an advocate or a lawyer hire another advocate or a lawyer to take up his clients case.If yes then how can one proceed further and if not then what are the rules in this regards? Any help would be appreciable. Sad

You mean refer a case to another lawyer?

Lawyers, at least in the US, do it all the time, when they get a case they don't have the time or expertise for, or they realize there's a conflict of interest. The referring lawyer usually gets 1/4 - 1/3 of the fee.

It is a very, very common practice here.
