I would guess it is an adverbial form of the word "spacey". But the internet doesn't seem to have any reference to it.

It is not a dictionary word, and is likely to be some kind of slang. Please provide context.

I guess it was the way certain kinds of girls behaved, back in the day, the kind we called 'space cadets'. When I was a hippie I think I had quite a sexist set of attitudes, because a girl could be a space cadet and that was OK, fun, even, but if a guy had the same trait he was said to be 'out to lunch'.

It could be a reference to "spatially", as ossobuco said.

If it is the adverb form of spacey, it should be noted that "spacey" came into widespread use in the late sixties when marijuana and hallucinogenic drugs were becoming common. It basically meant the way a person who taken in marijuana or something stronger and whose deductive powers were limited until the drug wore off would act. It also referred to those people whose normal, non-drug-affected deductive powers were only up to the level of a normal person on drugs.

Now, I was around at that time (question: were you?) , and I remember it completely differently. Spacey was... well, like you were in space. Far away. Distant. From here. From now. Stars. Galaxies. Spacey, right? There was a movie, called 2001: A Space Odyssey. The thing to do was to see it while you were tripping. I did this about 6 times altogether and got something different from it each time (I can't remember what, exactly, but that's not the point). Also, considering the different kind of buzz you got from different kinds of hash... black resin from India or Afghanistan gave you a heavy buzz... sleepy, could hardly move... deep, whereas some Moroccan or Lebanese (or certain kinds of grass from Egypt or Turkey) gave a light, "spacey" buzz... good if you wanted an artistic or creative vibe. (I am dredging up memories from 45-50 years ago, but it's all very clear).
