yes, that happened to me six months ago.
i was sound asleep, rolled over, and suddenly my head was spinning very fast.
it was scary as hell.
I called my PCP... he examined me and diagnosed it as a form of Vertigo called
BPPV and sent me to an ENT.
the ENT tested my hearing, and then did a couple of
Epley Maneuvers on me, which cured me.
unfortunately, the cure isn't necessarily permanent.
it came back a few months ago -- not as intense as the first one.
I went back to the ENT, and he gave me the cure.
it's important to understand that it is not serious, but that there is a risk of falling, and obviously dangerous if it happens while you are driving.
