It really doesn't matter, so long as both people are of age, and they are. Recognize when there is this kind of an age difference, the two members of the couple are likely to hit the end of their lives (and any attendant illnesses or infirmities) at different times.

Of course anyone can die tomorrow, but older people are far more likely to get Alzheimer's or cancer, or have a broken hip become a significant problem. If the parties are fully committed, then they may not care, but they would be remiss if they didn't at least think about what the end game could be like.

PS The 27 year old guy could get Hodgkin's Lymphoma or be hit by a bus or killed in a car accident or a mugging tomorrow, of course. All I'm saying is that people should understand a bit about the likelihood of some issues cropping up later.
