when there an earthquake in one part of the subduction zone, could it cause another earthquake in another part of the subduction zone? as an example , subduction zone in the south of Indonesia, when an earthquake in the western part of the subduction zone, can it cause another earthquakes in the another line of the subduction zones? i mean there only 2 plate collide, why earthquake just occur in 1 place and not all along the subduction zones? can someone help me? thank you. (sorry for my bad english)
