So school is a long way back for me and It finally occurred to me that the net might help me to rest assured that I yet understand the basics of writing my own language. (?)
2- I have an, unfortunately, specific way of learning which, while effective for me, as it pertains to retention, does also lead to some "pork" being retained as well. This admittedly, in turn, may, and does create some bad habits I am sure. (?)
Please critique my second paragraph grammatically with attention to commas. I'm interested in any correction but I'm particularly insecure about my use f commas. I, generally, try to use the least amount of commas as possible. I do this by trying to note where a sentence should end firstly. Secondly, and most religiously, I try to view the whole sentence asking my self the following question: If I remove all the contents of a sentence, existing (enclosed) between commas, does the sentence remain a complete sentence? I understand that said removal of contents may render the sentence useless, if the purpose of the sentence was to fully inform and/or add importance to or about the given subject, but, grammatically does it make sense? Thirdly, I use commas in place of "and" until the end of a list of words or when grouping to related words in a list of words.
Finally, I am not completely sure why I use commas as I just did in this sentence. (?) Is it correct usage nonetheless? Are my methods childish and ineffective? I feel like I am too frivolous with commas even though I try to reword my writings in order to eliminate them etc. I suspect I am neglecting other, useful, and most importantly correct, punctuation as well. Semi-colon, colons, hyphens etc.?
