Common human experience is to defend one's background - despite background as an issue being utter nonsense - but does this apply to God? How do you personally feel about this idea?

No, choice is an elaborate illusion. A persistent one, and one that serves a purpose so we can live in sanity. "Choices" are post factum "I could have" pseudo rationale's...
