Is redeployment another word for layoffs?

@Linkat,
Looks like you landed in Employment Hell. About the only good thing that can be said is that if you somehow get everyone through this, maybe the company will look at you like an irreplaceable piece.

@Linkat,
Someone needs to read "They Mythical Man-Month."

It's focused on software development, but there are universal truths in it.

Adding more headcount during crunch time actually increases the workload, due to the need for training, and can extend the length of the project.

@Blickers,
I can tell you I am learning a lot -- but unfortunately the stuff I am learning most of it is not applicable elsewhere at it more specific for the client I am working on.

The funny thing is - this other kid also just started in the group around the time I did. I call him kid because he is fresh out of college - just worked here maybe 6 months. Because of the work going overseas we are "preparing" in a sense - so what his position should be is preparing. He is now officially reviewing. Kind of scary as typically you are not qualified to review until you have a good amount of experience and understand the regulations.

So he is doing work above his pay grade/knowledge and I am doing work below my pay grade and knowledge
