Early in the day or early in the evening? Be precise. Also going to bed is not identical in meaning to going to sleep.

What is the difference?

Go to bed
Proceed to location of bed and lie or sit in (or on) it. Usually, but not always, for the purpose of sleep.

Go to sleep
Fall asleep, no information about location implied.
