received this warning from a friend of mine today about a bogus Microsoft "Phishing" email making the rounds: here are the contents:
"At Microsoft, we're committed to helping you reach your full potential by getting even more from your Microsoft communications. We encourage you to confirm how you would prefer Microsoft to communicate with you. While we understand that you may not have opted-in to receive Microsoft communications, we'd like to give you this opportunity to do so. All you have to do is update your preferences by validating your profile.
By updating your preferences, we can gain a better understanding of the kind of resources that are most relevant to you. The more complete your profile, the better able we'll be to provide information that will help you meet your objectives. We'll deliver that information right to your inbox.
Click on update your preferences to get started.
You can choose to have access to the latest security patches, bulletins and news that will help you protect your privacy. Because knowledge is power, you'll gain access to special downloads, priority notification of events in your area, software development kits, tools and more. Plus, you'll learn about Microsoft product updates and enhancements that can help you get the most out of your technology. Take a moment to update your preferences."
It asks you to fill in the form and add a password - as some people use one password for all of their personal accounts, this form can be the open door for these fools to access your info.
