In response to a pretty distinct tide against female autonomy, chicks are going to the streets Saturday. I'm excited to have an opportunity to speak back to power about my rights and my expectations of elected leaders.

March with your sisters to show our voting power and to demand equality and personal freedom.

The link above will help you find a gathering of sistergrrls near you, hopefully. Feel free to talk about the protest you attend and share pics.

@PUNKEY,
Women are mad about the fact that are not men so they are marching on Washington D.C.

@PUNKEY,
The initial march/ protest in Washington centers around Trump. I'm marching for a couple of reasons.

To meet local liberal women political activists, to protest the repeal of ACA, and to support the new progressive movement. I also think people who want votes may notice the strength of our voting block. I can think of a lot of good reasons to go.

edit--But after watching bits of the questioning of Betsy DeVos, I think she'll be featured on my placard.

Any decent man would support women trying to secure their rights.

When did women not have their God given rights? The problem with marching for one's rights implies that all the marchers have been denied something. The reality is that not all women are capable of doing what they are supposedly denied, due to where they might be in personal committments, not to mention where they might be on the bellcurve. But remember that the American military marches with arms hanging loosely to their sides; no goose-stepping!

@Foofie,
Since there's no god, there are no god-given rights. I'll take my State-given rights.

You go girls (women). I understand what this and any such march is, without quibbling semantics. This is part of a broader movement that is much larger than opponents suppose. At such a time I wish I were as footloose and young as in the 60s, so I could put my body on the line as well as my big mouth.

Since there are people that believe that there is a God, then within that belief there are God given rights. That is why, even though there is no Santa, Santa brings gifts to children that believe in him.

But, you can have your State's rights. I thought only Federal rights over rule State's rights, and the Supreme Court rules on what is a State's right or Federal right? But, that has nothing to do with a girl march.

Why won't all of those oppressive males allow the women to even march on Washington for themselves? Do they feel that the women will get lost or something?

Anybody can speak out. It's just that once it's over, the assholes of the world will carry on as though nothing at all took place.

This march - and it was the biggest in US history - this march was a message to Trump and his billionaire cronies, that we will not stand by silently if Republicans try to take our rights away. Our right to equality, our right over our body, our right to select reproductive measures ourselves, our right to adequate healthcare and our right to be acknowledged and heard.

Misogynists can talk all they want, no one is listening. Foofie, your shlep is not ours. You're a bitter old fart and it shows with every word you utter! I actually feel sorry for you. You are lacking compassion and being a "mensch".
