So Where is Skype Now?

I`m on Win. 7 & an updated Skype but after months of Skype without any problems now I get an occasional contact but for days none. My contact says his ON line is green but it does not show this to me. Niether is mine showing to him, green I think it has something to do with not showing as a contact. My contact list says ALL.
If everything is OK and I put (say) Smith in the Search section of Skype and click Skype Search I get many Smiths coming up but none connected. I would think there would be someone online. Does this show my problem?

There is no problem. Skype's not exactly intuitive sometimes.

The 'recent' list (which is actually what you are looking at) just shows who you have recently chatted with. Look at the tabs on the left. It defaults to recent. Click on contacts instead. Then type the first three or so letters of your contact's name in the search bar and it should search your contacts list first.

If you continue to have problems, ask your contact to call you so they end up in your recent list, then right-click and save as a favorite.
