A few of my friends and i are considering starting a small FM station here in canberra, australia. i wont divulge the proposed content of our program because it might be "adopted" before we can patent it.

anyway my point is i would like to know what is involved in getting a broadcasting licence, how much does it cost and what qualifications if any are needed?

thanks

pugdog, welcome to A2K. Can't help you with the Australian bit, but here in America, the FCC must issue any radio station a license, and that depends upon the area served. There are several Aussies here on A2K, you might check with dlowan and perhaps she can guide you to the proper authorities
