I'm looking for the artist and name of an old 70's tune with a smooth melody that makes you feel like you are floating:
Drifting on a memory
There's no place I'd rather be
Than with you
This song is going to be on the soundtrack of the upcoming movie Alphie starring Jude Law, but it's not out yet.
Anyone know what it is?
Thanks! : )
For The Love Of You-Whitney Houston
Drifting on a memory
Ain't no place I'd rather be than with you
Loving you
Day will make the way for night
All we need is candlelight
And a song, soft and long
Well, you'd like to think
We're alone with a love unlike no other
Sad to see, a new horizon slowly coming into view
[Chorus:]
I want to be living for the love of you
All that I'm giving is for the love of you
Lovely as a ray of sun
That touches me when the morning comes
Feels good to me
My loving me, yeah
Smoother then a gentle breeze
Flowing from my mind with ease
Soft as can be
Well, when you're loving me, ooh baby
Love to be
Riding the waves of love enchanted with your touch
It seems to me
We can sail together in and out of mystery
[chorus]
Paradise, I hafta think, can't feel as secure again
You're the key
And this I see
Now and then I lose my way
Confusing words to try and say what I feel
Yeah, your love is real
I might as well, sign my name on a card that's been saying better
See, time will tell
Cause it seems that I've done just about all that I can do
[chorus]
Wow! That was a quick response. That sure looks like the song, but I don't think I've heard it by Whitney Houston. What I heard sounded more like Al Greene. The version that will be in the Alphie movie is definitely by a man. I want to hear it by Whitney. She has a beautiful voice.
Thanks! : )
(Sorry for the double posting of the original question. It got hung up in one browser, so I opened another browser to submit it and did not know that it had gone through in the first browser)
Same Here
I was wondering the exact same thing, I saw the Alfie trailer and I feel in love with the song instantly. The version you are asking for is not the Whitney one, even though its great too, its made by The Isley Brothers "For the Love of You".
Drifting on a memory
Well thank you, it's been driving me mad - ofcourse it's the Isley brothers - however, this is NOT on the new soundtrack from Alfie - I checked already, you'll probably need to get an Isley Brothers album............I agree, fantastic track!!
