I've heard that ants kill themselves if the queen ant dies. But I am to curious how the ants kill themselves....Anyone know?

Ok - I tried to look it up for you.
One place said they gradually die off, if a queen is not available.
Others say that some colonies have several queens at any one time, and go for years.
I think it clear they do NOT commit suicide!

they actually starve to death, unless they find a colony with another queen nearby.
