Should it be "the hearing of the appeal has been fixed for Jan 18"?

Anwar’s lawyer Shahid Adli Kamarudin told reporters that Jan 18 had been fixed for the hearing of the appeal.

Is the part in bold OK? Or should it be "the hearing of the appeal has been fixed for Jan 18"?

Thanks.

The original and your alternative are both acceptable.
