Fill in the blank with the correct word in the brackets.
Fill in the blank with the correct word in brackets.

For example,

I heard someone (scream, screams, screamed).

Where I live, the second sentence is more commonly used in exam papers.

I wonder which sentence is correct?

Thanks.

Both sentences are acceptable, however I would omit 'the', because it is unnecessary.
