The author now lives in Sacramento, California, USA(,) with her husband, two dogs and three cats.
Is the comma needed after "USA"?
Thanks.
@tanguatlay,
It's not needed, probably because of a current trend away from its use where unnecessary
As for absolute grammar, let's hear fromWB, Con, Fil, Razz....
Yes, it stays.
Just Google: how to write cities and countries.
Punkey's right. You need the comma.
@tanguatlay,
Tho tang with no offense to the other experts, Ive noted thousands of instances where, in my youth, there would have been a comma. Perhaps its omission is doubtful on certain technical grounds, but it's the trend today
@dalehileman,
I don't agree. The comma must be there.
@Roberta,
Roberta is a long time book editor/proofreader for a major publishing firm. Consider listening to her point of view on grammar (and other matters).
Adds - she sounds like a normal everyday relaxed New Yorker on a2k, but she knows her beeswax.
@ossobucotemp,

Thanks Oss I'll try to remember that
However I've been at it some 83 years, and I'd still not find the comma necessary. I'd need a link showing how its omission changes meaning
