What has freedom and equality have anything to do with god? Freedom and equality are values of politics. God is a religious concept.

Because they are examples of beliefs that are equally unprovable.

You are upset about the idea of god because it is unprovable. The value of freedom and equality are equally unprovable. It is hypocrisy for Atheists to attack religion for holding unprovable beliefs when they themselves hold unprovable beliefs.

My dispute is with the idea that atheism is superior than any religion, or that unprovable beliefs held by atheists are substantially any different than unprovable beliefs held by atheists. I don't have any problem with anyone choosing to be an atheist (and I myself don't believe in any gods).

Ironically China is officially an Atheist country. As is North Korea, and Cuba (I don't think there are any other current countries that are officially atheist).

But sure. If you want to end the discussion without having to address the weaknesses in your point of view, making a personal attack without any attempt to answer the questions I am raising is a good way to do it.

Well, there is a difference. The others have you born again, and again, and again... They just have you forget your previous births and lives.

That never passed the reason and logic test for me. What's the point if you never remember all the previous lessons learned? And in the case of Buddhism, there isn't even a God to give you life again. What's up with that?

I am willing to accept that there is a God or there isn't a God based on criteria of my own choosing, but Reason has to be in the mix.
