The majority of people insured under Obama Care are under government paid Medicaid. It doesn't apperar that was considered in the "statistical analysis" of views of benefits received.
Contrary to the forecasts of the systems designers, the young and healthy are simply opting out and paying the small tax penalties. In fact I suspect the designers of the new system were fully aware of the inadequate penalties, and simply feared the likely adverse reaction. Perhaps they assumed they would retain absolute political power and would later be able to bail the system out with added (but previuously politically unacceptable government subsidies.
Either way our national debt doesn't permit the continuation of such programs.
Finally the Republicans haven't yet acted against ObamaCare so your comment about no alternative is irelevant. The fact is they have a number of fairly specific options for a replacement and will likely enact one. We shall see.....
