Should I try again or move on?

Theres this girl that I've know for about 2 years, I've had feelings for her since the first time I saw her. My parents are good friends with her parents so we spent some time hanging out with them. Whenever we would go over to her place i would be too shy to talk to her. (Damn anxiety) last summer they decided that they wanted to move away from Portland to central oregon. Once i learned this i was crushed! I was planning on getting to know her better and eventually ask her out. Last September her family came back down to portland and i had the plan to ask for her number. But of course my nervous ass didn't. I ended up messaging her on facebook asking for it. She got back to me within minutes. I HAD GOTTEN IT! I was so excited but that excitement didn't last long. When i texted her for the first time It took ONE whole day to get a response. When I did get a response all she said was "hiya" i then proceeded to ask her what her favorite type of music was. The whole conversation lasted about 20 minutes. Her responses were short. And she never asked me anything. I texted her about 3 more times but got the same short responses. Im assuming that i got those responses becouse she doesn't know me well. I've been to her new place about 4 times but have always been too nervous/shy to start a conversation with her. So the main question i have is should i get to know her better and try again or give up? Thanks in advance to anybody who decides to chime in.

@Chadmuska64,
I didn't see any reason in there to give up, but it really doesn't look encouraging.

@roger,
What do you mean by "it doesn't look encouraging"?

@Chadmuska64,
You just can't make someone like you, and that seems to be the spot you're in. I wish it weren't true, but sometimes, the more you try the worse it gets.
