Forum Question No. 4

Reply Tue 25 Oct, 2016 05:53 am
If someone leaves a reply to a post which I have also replied to and I want to make a comment or ask that person a question can I not reply right there where they have left their reply? Will they not receive my post to them?

@Candlelight8,
I am replying to your post. If you reply to my reply and then ask a followup, you will then have 2 posts in a row. Whether the person you are replying to see's it or cares is beyond anything you can do. There is no way of knowing whether or not a specific individual see's your reply. Only PM's go to specific individuals and you don't want to abuse your usage of that.

@McGentrix,
What is a PM? Please don't assume I know every abbreviation forums use.
Are you saying the some total of the conversation is post and replies? There is no follow up and talking to others who respond to posts? I have stated that I am new to forums entirely. I think only the people who have been here from the beginning know how these things work. If you do a survey, I think you will find that I am not alone. People are just winging it. I am sincerely trying to understand how to use this forum? The site seems to want me to guess?

@Candlelight8,

PM = private message

click Inbox next to your username in the upper right corner to read your PM's...

@Candlelight8,

are you talking about threaded conversations, like facebook has?

@Region Philbis,
I have never been on facebook. I don't know how to use that site either but thank you for your response. Candlelight8

@Candlelight8,

here's an example of a threaded discussion --

on facebook, you have the ability to reply to someone's comment specifically.

here, the comments are linear, so it's more difficult to follow the indivudual discussions within the overall thread...

Candlestick, or whatever your name is, be aware that excessively sending members unwanted personal messages is a quick way to a ban.
