@dalehileman,
Grrrrrrrr back.

Some ESL, EFL people are tuning re their understanding about how english works, are quite good at it, and some are just at the very beginning of learning. Your shortening their names is obnoxious - they probably have to figure out if you are talking to them, and then you give garbled information most of the time.
I thumb you down when you do that garble business - you are interfering with their learning. I remember the beginning of learning languages, and tossed in comments would through me off.
Be so kind as to tell us about all the languages you know, and how you learned them.

I have shortened a few people's names here on a2k, and all of those few have been good friends. You presume while you fool with new poster's name in order to shorten your effort, so cute.

I spent some of my younger life with acronyms for medical words, widely used in the field: I understand that.
I enjoy learning some acronyms from Urban Dictionary, but they miss stuff too.
You are a pain in the ass, however.
Please cut it out on the language threads.

@ossobucotemp,
Spot on. Not only is most of dilman's advice misleading or just downright wrong, his use of abbreviations is one unique to him. He doesn't use standard abbreviations like TV but BH which means nothing to anyone but himself. And far from saving time he then needs to explain himself.

He should stay off all EFL/grammar threads, he's not fit to give any advice.

@dalehileman,
Don't worry about it dale, we just about all of us have some sort of perceived peccadillo 'round these parts. Some irritate some groups and some others bug the bejeezus out of others. Quite similar to how people are with their neighbors. Now ask yourself, if your neighbor on the left side of your hone declared a dislike for you, would you up and move? Ist likely not, because you like your home and the area. So don't go allowing others to zip you out the door. If they are truly bothered, they can use the handy-dandy ignore feature which the website has afforded each of us.

Thank you Stur

I keep a listing of "GOOD GUYS" v "NOT" and at present the former outnumber the latter by 18 to 14. Of course you're among the former

I do not have to read your EFL/grammar answers.
The person asking the question has to.
If it is someone learning English he/she will be rather confused about certain things in your answers.
Shortening a name, shortening words, giving explanations, which are rather confusing is all rather impolite and does not help one bit,
Do you really know what it means to teach or to learn a language?

@dalehileman,
I imagine your wife is probably used to seeing this sort of mishigas from you. However, that being said, it is neither a clear nor effective means of communication. If she understands it, Id be surprised. She has my sympathy.

Lastly, it is absurd to expect a clear understanding from ESL forum members. Why you insist on doing this defies logic.
