I'll take the cruise for a short part of the way, but really, I'd get a little claustrophobic and antsy to get places and check them out. So, I'll be doing the concorde, which will have to be activated for me, and one bullet train somewhere along the line (Paris to Leon?) and many slow trains, I love trains.
But then again, I love cars, so I'll have to have to research which alfa romeo I really want to be available at various destinations.

I guess the bullet train would make most sense in Japan. Speaking as we were of sushi...

Where is Gus, anyway...

edit, I see I didn't think that out. Different cars for different situations.
We need Clary to help us with getting around southeast asia, and Gautam to pick the restaurant in India. I bet she knows where to eat in Hong Kong too, both high end and street wise.

Osso

You have your thinking cap on today, lots of great ideas. I also love train rides, aren't they fun.

Perhaps we should invite Gus.

Your tastes are more refined than my own. We could invite the whole a2k crew for a spin around the world. I think I will :-)

Everyone is invited!!!!!!!!! :-)

Well, I did think Gus would want us to have the best. Too bad he can't come, but someone has to stay behind to care for the capybaras. Sad

I forgot to tell you a few things about the yachts. Our staterooms all have state-of-the-art entertainment systems (flat screen TV, DVD with 250 movies available, CD players, etc.), internet access (laptop computers & MP3 players are available), and exceptional shower massage units in the bathrooms. Some of the staterooms even have his & hers bathrooms and closets!

Each yacht can accommodate up to 110 guests and has a staff of 89. (That's almost 1:1!)

You can choose to dine in your stateroom, in the dining room, or they offer "private dining." Whichever way you choose, you will receive "unsurpassed levels of service and attention" from their Chef, Maitre d' and Wine Sommelier.

For fun, check out the Top of the Yacht Bar, the Casino or the Piano Bar. Or hang out by the Pool. For the sports-minded, they have bicycles, Segways, sailboats, kayaks, wind surfers, inflatables, waterskiing and snorkeling gear.

As for me, I will be spending most of my time in the Asian Spa getting massages and assorted treatments. I won't be using the treadmills (in front of the plasma screen TV), the recumbent bicycles or any of the weightlifting equipment, so help yourself. No standing in line!

(Info from website linked above. Yes, Cav, they've even posted sample menus.)

I'll nominate one of my favourite restaurants:
Sean's Panaroma, opposite Bondi Beach!

If I had insane wealth (seems like that's what it would take) I WOULD actually rent one of those just for a2kers, what fun we would have!

I had 3 multi-millionaires offer me the world in the last 3 years, but for some reason I don't fall in love with wealthy men, (I think there is a secret curse on me).

Oh Eva, those yachts are a tease.

Even the bathrooms are nice, we can dream all we want, yes we can :-)

We can do more than dream, paula. We can virtually charter them. Around the world, you say? Where shall we start? (I need to know where to send my trunks.)

Well, if I had insane wealth, I would donate it in various ways, some of which would accrue to fund stuff over time, and some of which would push start in situations like the by now famous start up thing in India, funding small time entrepreneurs.. all with No Administrative Fees, (my fairy godmother will take care of distribution and accounting.) And some of which would just help people right away.

But, I don't, so in fantasyville, I will pretend any of us who click on to a2k can join and go along on an extensive world tour with Gus' money. We will always eat well, and have respite at hand, but I expect we'll see a lot, even on a tour, that puts a little catch in our steps.

I am quite attracted to some fine things, but when everybody else is in the throes of trouble, it is hard to enjoy. I don't think the finer things are wrong, but they are often ill gotten, and people suffer close at hand. Soooo, I want to see much less desparity on this particular journey, she says, whiffing fan and having it WORK.
