I recently started a thread where I enclosed all my credit card numbers and told all A2Kers to help themselves to 5000.00 apiece.

I have a considerable amount of extra money and thought I would share it with the good people of this site.

But the thread is gone!

And now I've sobered up and decided to keep the money.

But I'm still curious as to what happened to that thread.

Your thread wasn't really gone - it ended up at 192.168.1.1 - which by sheer chance is my computer.

Considering that you changed your mind, I'll keep a certain amount here, send you a second certain amount and give the rest to nice people (I've heard of some women, who have to work naked with dark red lights at night: I think, they'll get the money).

Gus, I'm so sad. I took your generous $5,000 and invested it in your name with Virgin Airlines new space travel program. Within five hours of my stock purchase, the stock's value increased to $35,051.48. I was about to write a check and send it to you, but the thread disappeared and now I can't find nor trace the money.

As I said, I'm so sad thinking of what you could have done with all of that money.

I was thinking again of the Ritz but I'm already sending Reg and the wife. For you, hmmm, maybe I'll just rent out a huge condo for ya on Beacon Hill, lovely area. And for meals, I like the Parker House, Copleys, and Top of the Hub, (I wouldn't send you any where I wouldn't go myself) oh, one more thing, make sure you order lots of booze, even if you don't want it.

Why'm I chuckling? Gus knows why. In his cups, he got all the numbers of his credit cards mixed up. If any of you actually did go on a shopping spree with that spurious information, you'll likely have the authorities knocking on your door real soon.

(Good thing I was out cold while that thread was still in existence. I might have been tempted, my finances being what they are [or aren't].)
