A mother always thinks about the future of her children and tries to educate them with the hope that they will have better futures.
I think it should be 'a better future' instead of 'better futures'. Am I correct?
Thanks.
@tanguatlay,
they will have better futures.
or
they will have a better future.
@tanguatlay,
I prefer "a better future" too. Earlier you said "the future of her children" as opposed to "the futures of her children" so it seems more consistent to say "a better future."
@tanguatlay,
A slight diff, Tang, depending on context. From a purely technical point of view I suppose if one of the kids was 'way older the plural might be preferred
