The most important point regarding the achievement of our objective is something that goes without saying, which is converting others to our religion and nurturing them.

Is the part in bold OK? Thanks.

It is OK. Saying that something 'goes without saying' is an idiomatic way of saying that it is obvious, generally understood, taken for granted, accepted or self-evident.
