What is the make/brand of your car?
Which word should I use?
Thanks.
@tanguatlay,
Whichever you like best. For almost all other products, I prefer 'brand'. For cars I have no preference at all.
hmm.
I've never heard anyone ask what brand of car.
I'd say most people ask for the make and model.
For instance, the make of my car is Toyota, the model is a Prius.
@tanguatlay,
It's up to you. I've noticed I say make for bigger appliances like TVs, fridges, cars, and brand for stuff like clothes, headphones, and furniture.
Make and brand are both in common UK usage.
Wikipedia has a list of car brands:

The UK
Daily Telegraph has a list of the 16 most reliable car brands:

The UK Auto Trader indexes used cars by "make":

Thanks, contrex and dalehileman.
@tanguatlay,
Very welcome Tang for whatever little
Make sounds good for a car, brand seems generic for every product.
I have heard make used for TVs, wrist watches, shoes, refrigerators, washing machines, in fact all kinds of things that are manufactured or made. Not just cars.
