I received the following e-mail from Cicerone Imposter today:
Guess most of you have already heard that the NYTs is closing down Abuzz on September 2. I reestablish my membership, then bang, in less than one month, they close it down! I've always known I'm a rabble-rouser, but didn't think I had that much influence. LOL - C.I.
Has anyone else heard anything about the reason for it?

Well, it's about time. Abuzz has orchestrated the longest death scene in the history of the world.
A number of months ago, after a very long absence, I decided to try Abuzz again. I think that I lasted a couple of weeks. I spent more time scrolling past swill, than finding threads to which I could actually respond.
It is a pity. Abuzz was bright with promise.
Abuzz- Requiscat in pace!
Unfortunately, it's more like "Sic semper Tyrannis".
