Is there any grammatical difference between "a friend of mine" and "a friend of me"?

Yes . . . no one would say "a friend of me." One might say, "a friend to me," as in: "Henry has always behaved as a friend to me." --but not a friend of me.

The spelling of the word is grammar (not spelled gramma).
