I have been listening to this new Velvet Revolver CD, and I am loving it. Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum from GNR, and Scott Weiland from Stone Temple Pilots. How can you beat that? Scott Weiland is one of my all-time favorite frontmen, and listening to Slash doing his trademark guitar solos is always a good thing. Go get this record!
Let's talk about supergroups. Who were your favorites? Who did you think sucked? Are supergroups just rich guys trying to get richer? Does it matter if the music's good?
anyone remember Power Station
they weren't bad by 80's standards but it seems kinda cheesy now, the band was comprised of robert palmer (vocals), duran duran's john taylor (bass) and andy taylor (guitar), and ex - chic member tony thompson (drums)
anybody have any thoughts on the 21st century doors?
Power Station- The sum is less than the numbers.
Doors-Morrison gone-Door slammed
Blind Faith...hmmm I liked them, especially Rick Grech who added an unworldly violin to the mix.
Velvet Revolver has a smart commercial sound. They should make a lot of dough.
let's take this topic a little further, who would you like to see in a supergroup?
Good idea
Little Feat featuring Lee Roy Parnell and Bonnie Raitt
Anybody heard Lee Roy play slide?
