Not clear on female's decision

Can you tell me the difference between a mother/wife denying a daughter's request to drive a couple hours and spend a night with the daughter and grandchild a day before the daughter's wedding after the daughter asked her mom, but the day of the wedding, the mother/wife was asked to take a group picture, requested by the daughter, with an ex-boyfriend of the mother. (The ex being at the daughter's wedding is a completely different story. Do not even ask or answer with that response). The mother said, she really didn't want to take the picture, but the daughter asked.

@hh60helio,
So what? the mother did not want to do that. You want to over rule her?

@ossobuco,
also, a female's decision?

Nice way to alienate females from answering - we are usually called women.

@hh60helio,
The mother's decision not to drive up the day before the wedding to be with the daughter and grandchild has nothing to do with the mother's later decision to not take a group picture with an ex-boyfriend. Two different cases, the "difference" does not need to be explained.
