Craven, are we talking purse as in lips or a natty little holdall as used by ladies. Or the silk purse that is made out of a venerable pig's ear.

We are talking about a alledged connection between purse and.. nevermind, I can't remember what the farfetched theory was about.

John,
There are some interesting interpretations to the title of your thread.
One: "What I Tell You Three Times is True" has origins in advertising, which simply has to do with saturation. The other was given to me by, I think, Thorman on the Realm. He indicated that when a couple appeared in public three times, this was the indication that it was a serious situation, and marriage was impending. I simply cannot remember the specific culture in which this was a practice.

Sorry I can't think of a more earthy response. (flipping through "found under Carnal Knowledge" pages) Razz

The old salesman's adage applies.

#1 tell 'em what you are going to tell 'em

#2 tell 'em

#3 tell 'em what you've told 'em

I think it kinda works on dummies coz they don't know better, yuppies coz they gotta have the latest and greatest. Joe Public often gets brain seizure and then his eyes glaze over and our salesman ends up talking to a brick wall or the dog. Neither of which can write or have any money.
