I think some of them were the names of rival deities, which is frowned on by monotheism.

Devil= Slanderer
Satan= Resister. Rebel.
Lucifer= Shining one or Morning Star - may not apply specifically to the chief resister.
Beel- or Baal-= Owner, or Lord. Also not specific to any one resister.
Demon refers to one who joined Satan in his rebellion.
Don't have a handle on Mephistopheles, as yet.
The heavenly name given to Satan is not known and probably will never be known to humans because of its ignominy.
