In answering another question about what book I am now reading, I realized I am reading two at once - one during the day and earlier evening and one for while I am in bed before I sleep.
How many books do you read at once? Any problems keeping them straight? What have you?
3 books at a time. i usually read a non-fiction book in the morning, when my concentration is better.
for the subway i have some kind of book about life ,ie, currently it's a book on mindfulness by a vietnamese buddhist. on the subway, especially, i need something to keep focused on, or else i start wondering about all the people coming and going.
at night, before bed, it's fiction.
Right now? Five non-fiction, two fiction and a piece of low trash for the exercycle.
Never less than two, usually three.
One when I really want to concentrate on it (or it's just to enthralling to put down), otherwise two or three. Two is more common than three however as I usually get so stuck into a book that I wont put it down until it's finished.
I have perfected the art of walking and reading at the same time, and doing most daily chores one-handed.
I read several non-fiction at a time but only one fiction especially if it is a long saga!
1 Book at a time.
But usually have 2-3 magazines going at once.
One fiction and about 4 non-fiction books for entertainment and 6 for the purposes of study. It used to be 3 fiction and 1 non-fiction, but this degree is really messing with my head.
NeoGuin, are you working at a camphill community, or is that the name of an actual town/city? Just curious....
Two of each on the go at once! All the time! Soemtimes mroe!
Actually now it's a dozen non-fiction and no fiction (well, some trivia like Jazz and political magazines
).
Usually, I don't read more than one fiction at the same time, but more than a dozen non-fiction are quite normal (can't do such, when specialising like at the moment).
only 1.
I can hardly get concentration if there are too many books waiting for me to read.
i usually have more than one book on the go. i'm fairly indiscriminate when it comes to reading; i like to have one or two new books(from the library) plus another book or two from my own collection - german and english - at hand. i usually go to the library every other week - more often in the winter - and scoop up a couple of bags of books and 5-6 magazines. mrs h and i have often said, if we didn't have the library we either would be terrible bored or broke. when i went to the library on friday i also picked up two dvd's : 'kumu hula - keepers of a culture' (to prepare for our hawaii vacation) and 'andre rieu - live in dublin' (because we like some "schmalz" every now and then). hbg
Though I love the library immensely, I have found that I am so terrible at returning books on time that it is simply easier to buy them.
The second hand book store is my best friend. I pop in and pick up a new book every time I walk past.
Love it.
I love the library too! Right now, I've got seven books out, and I'm reading three at the same time.
me too
last visit to the library I checked out 10 books.
Several were jewelry making books, the rest sci-fi. I probably had 3 on my plate at a time.
