There is a goody by Leadbelly I can't recall the name of, in which his song asks the warden to pardon him. (and it worked)

Talkin about leadbelly, I can't remember if I posted this one either. Leadbelly knew what doin time was about, eh? He was convicted of murder, twice, and each time he got a pardon from the Governor, on account of he could sing and play so good, ya know?

This tune is kinda about work. Typical "press" for Huddie in that era:
