I love the music off the new advert for the BMW 1 Series, is it by a band or was it made especially for the advert, and does anybody know what it's called?
The song, titled The Principle of Joy, was composed specifically in response to a solicitation from BMW's advertising agency; it was selected from among a number of entrants to an open call for an original tune suitable for an automotive advertising campaign.

Actually, the demand for the song came from BMW itself, not from an advertising agency (BMW makes 'homemade' commercials). :wink:

Having found a video clip of it, the song you described is different to the one I heard (and so is the advert). I live in the UK and the music I heard in the advert had no lyrics and was just a cool noise, so I'm guessing it won't be released (although the 'principle of joy' sounds pretty good actually). Thanks anyway tho

Oh, well, sorry that wasn't what you were looking for. I don't live in the UK, and while I do listen to The Beeb fairly regularly, I haven't really noticed whether they run the ad you mention ... or really, any other ad; for the most part, I pretty much either mentally tune ads out or switch stations

As far as I could find out, this one in the UK is from the new Prodigy album and called "You Will Be Under My Wheels" (which is the opinion of most discussion boards) ... or "Smoke".
(Might be that both tracks ase used.)
Ya start with keywords then start chiselin' off the returns that don't lead anywhere. You wind up either with a pile of useless dust and rubble, or a real nugget or two. Its the hunt, not so much the find, that's the fun.

Is it that one or is it one I came across called Sordid by someone called Amon something or other? I'm half way through downloading all three songs and I can not wait to find which one it is. The advert rocks and I heard it for the first time in the cinema - I just sat straight up in my seat and said to my friend, I have to have that track!
