Can anyone recommed some excellent and well written spy novels?
I've read the Bond books, including the ones by Gardener and Benson. I'm looking for a more modern type.
Thanks in advance.
I have to confess a guilty pleasure here. I love the "Matt Helm" books by Donald Hamilton. I know, I know, when you say Matt Helm most people think of the awful movies with Dean Martin. But most of the books are actually quite good. Hamilton wrote around 30 of them, starting in the early 60s until just a few years ago. The first ones are a little dated now, but you might enjoy some of the more recent ones.
