Is it illegal to exchange seat with co-passenger in a plane? Once I traveled abroad and it was a long journey. I was feeling terrible. The seat was not quite comfortable and more than that I did not get the "window side". So I decided to exchange with someone. Most of the passengers did not agree. But luckily I got an old gentleman who agreed to accept my proposal. Was it wrong ?

People pay extra for certain seats, but the airlines also play a numbers game with their pricing structure.
Who cares what the other passengers say? I'm sure they would feel a lot more uncomfortable if you had vomited on them.

Flight attendants ask people to change seats all the time.
